The IWK 250 Super Weekend gets underway on Wednesday with the inaugural Dash 4 Cash, a 75-lap $5,000-to-win non-points race for pro stock racers. Fans will also be treated to the first leg of the Maritime Legends Challenge for the Cross Roads Legends Tour.
The Dash 4 Cash is a prelude to Saturday’s IWK 250 and will feature top drivers from four Canadian provinces and one American state. Making the longest haul, from Mooresville, North Carolina is Tyler Tanner, driving a Butcher Racing entry. Tanner is originally from Auburn, Washington and has 14 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races on his resume, as well as starts in the K&N Pro Series West and the CARS Pro Late Model Tour.
Also on the entry list, and a close second in the long-haul category, is Jake Sheridan – a top racer from Mount Brydges, Ontario who has competed in 11 races this year and won five of them. Josh Collins, from Newfoundland, may get the nod for the busiest driver over the next few days at Riverside with entries in three of five races – the Dash 4 Cash, Friday’s NAPA/Henry’s AUTOPRO Sportsman 100, and Saturday’s IWK 250. Antigonish’s Donald Chisholm – the 2016 IWK 250 champion and 2015 Maritime Pro Stock Tour champion – will defend his home turf. And Cory Hall, winner of three of the four races he’s entered in the Maritimes this year and a multi-time Legends Cars winner at Riverside – will hope to claim his first checkered flag in a pro stock on Canada’s highest-banked race track.
These guys and several others will go fender-to-fender for 75 laps to see who will win the inaugural Dash 4 Cash at Riverside. King Competition Qualifying will set the field with a unique format – two laps and a modified pit stop. The driver with the quickest total time in qualifying will take home $500.
