JAMES RIVER, NS (August 18, 2012) – The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour made its final stop of 2012 at Riverside International Speedway and Mike Stevens showed the way leading all 100 laps of the Lucas Oil 100. It was Stevens (Riverview, NB) second win of the season with his first win also coming at Riverside in June; it is his third career series win. The race was caution free and took just 25 minutes to complete.

Three-time series champion John Flemming (Halifax) finished second just ahead of another former series champ, Shawn Turple (Enfield) – also the series current point leader. Daryl Mahar (Hubley) was fourth and Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) rounded out the top five.

By dominating the event, Stevens pocketed the Linde Most Laps Led Award, the King Freight Lines Halfway Award and the Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials (14.336 seconds). The Fast Eddie Racewear Dash for Cash was picked up by local favorite Donald Chisholm (Antigonish), who faded to ninth in the feature event. Dartmouth Dodge Heat Races were won by Shawn Tucker (Fredericton, NB) and Jerome Kehoe (Sydney), who edged out George Koszkulics (New Glasgow) in an exciting finish to Heat Two. Brad Eddy (Lower Sackville) captured his best finish of the season by taking 8th place and the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race Award. Kent Vincent (Crapaud, PE) received the Absolute Traffic Services Hard Charger Award. The Lucas Oil 100 took 25 minutes to complete.

The series has just two races remaining to decide its 2012 champion (August 25 at Petty Int’l Raceway in NB, and September 8 at Scotia Speedworld near Halifax). Turple will hold a slim eight-point advantage over Flemming heading for Petty next weekend; Jonathan Hicken is third, just 10 markers behind Flemming. Complete series point standings are here.

Riverside International Speedway finishes its 2012 season September 15 with the Wilson Equipment 300 for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series; the Napa Sportsman Series championship race will open the weekend on September 14. Advance tickets for the Wilson 300 weekend will be available starting August 22.
