TRACK RENTALS

TRACK RENTALS OPEN JUNE 2, 2021

Time slots are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and 10 a.m.to 6 p.m. Weekdays are preferable; evenings and weekend days are tougher to coordinate but will be considered if requested.

Pit entry is limited to those 18 years of age or older with the following exception:

  • Driver’s under 18 may be allowed to participate provided 1) an official notarized Parental Consent is executed by both parents and/or legal guardians, and 2) a Minor Participant Assumption and Acknowledgement of Risk is executed by the minor at least 72 hours in advance of rental. Anyone not driving or working on the race cars should not be in the pit area.

Rental fees are non-refundable; if the weather is an issue the session will be rescheduled. If you need to reschedule for any reason other than the weather, you must do so at least 48 hours in advance of the start time. “No-Shows” will not be rescheduled.

The race car and driver must be registered to compete with a sanctioning body that races at RIS; the car must be approved for competition by the sanctioning body.

Race cars must have, and drivers must wear, all safety and other equipment per rules governing their division/sanction with the following exceptions: full-face helmets (Snell SA2010 or newer) and head and neck restraint (SFI spec) are mandatory at RIS – certification stickers and/or labels must be visible.

A maximum of four registered teams can share the rental with only one car on the track at a time. Cars participating in the rental cannot be swapped during the rental period, i.e. the four cars at the track must be the same cars that have been indicated on the Track Rental Request forms.

Rental Fees do not include fire/medic personnel or vehicles, wreckers, insurance, or any track staff or equipment. These services are available through the track at an additional fee.

If weather threatens your ability to use the track, in order to avoid a cancellation penalty, you should confirm the weather at the track before deciding not to attend.

A minimum of two people are required for each rental and you must have access to a cellular phone while on-site. Should you need emergency assistance call 911 first, then contact the on-site RIS worker to report the incident.

You rent the track AT YOUR OWN RISK and you also accept responsibility for any and all persons on-site during your rental. No alcohol or any illegal substance is permitted on-site during the rental. No person who is impaired by any substance is permitted on-site during a practice session.

You are required to clean up any fluid spillages and are responsible for any facility damage that may happen during your rental. You must advise the attendant on-site when you are leaving.

These sessions are only for the purpose of practicing a race car in advance of one of our events. If you are considering a track rental for any other reason you must make that request with full disclosure of the purpose, the expected number of attendees, etc., in writing to info@riversidespeedway.ca – practice session rental rates do not apply for any other purpose.

Failure to comply with the Riverside International Speedway Team Track Rental Policy & Procedures outlined here and on the team track rental reservation form may result in eviction from the premises and forfeiture of future rental and/or racing privileges.

2021 COVID-19 Guidelines for Track Rentals

We are opening for practice in accordance with Nova Scotia’s public health guidelines. For the safety of our staff and other participants, teams are expected to abide by all protocols and restrictions, with no exceptions.

Reservations

  • Must reserve session in advance online (only); rental package will be emailed when reservation confirmed;
  • Maximum four (4) teams per session (one car on track at a time); six (6) people per team, including driver;
  • Only those essential to your practice should attend; duties must be listed on reservation form;
  • Liability and COVID-19 waivers must be signed prior to entry, in the presence of track personnel.

Participants

MUST NOT attend if…

  • Have been outside Nova Scotia* within the 14 days prior to event;
  • Experiencing COVID-19 symptoms – see COVID-19 Daily Checklist document in this package;
  • Diagnosed with or exposed to someone diagnosed with or exposed to COVID-19 in 14 days prior to event;
  • Advised by the public health authorities, or are required to self-isolate, in the 14 days prior to the event.

SHOULD NOT attend if…

  • At high-risk for severe health issues.

*Will be adjusted as Public Health guidelines allow.

Participant Screening

  • Must acknowledge and agree to COVID-19 protocols and public health requirements at time of reservation;
  • COVID-19 screening will be confirmed at entry.

Face Masks & Physical Distancing

  • Masks must be worn at entry;
  • Participants must remain in their pit space for the duration of the session; if necessary to leave must wear a mask and maintain a minimum two metre/six foot distance from staff and/or members of other teams that may be on-site;
  • Masks must be worn when inside public buildings, i.e. washroom.

Team/Participant Responsibilities

  • Each team must designate a team leader to communicate with on-site RIS staff, and provide a cellular phone/text number for them so they communicate electronically (contactless);
  • MUST bring required COVID-19 prevention supplies – face mask & disinfectant supplies – no exceptions (no supplies, no entry);
  • All team members should be on-site prior to the scheduled start time; the gate will not be opened once the session starts;
  • Team members should not share equipment; if not possible equipment should be sanitized between users;
  • Each participant should bring their own food and beverages; no shared coolers or food tables;
  • Participants should wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; if not possible use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content;
  • Participants should limit physical contact with others; refrain from handshakes, hugs, high-fives, etc.;
  • Participants are encouraged to practice respiration etiquette (coughing, sneezing) by covering mouth/nose with the inside of the elbow, and to avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth at all times, especially with unwashed/sanitized hands.

       Parking

      • Haulers must be parked at least 7 metres/20 feet apart;
      • Personal vehicles must be parked on the backstretch pit spaces with occupants going directly to and from team pit space, wearing a mask.

      Facility

      • The pit area restroom will be open – maximum two people inside at one time;

      MAKING A REQUEST USING THE FORM BELOW DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE RENTAL, NOR DOES THE RECEIPT FOR PAYMENT THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE UPON SUBMITTING THE REQUEST; YOU WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL WITH DETAILS ONCE YOUR REQUEST IS REVIEWED (GENERALLY WITHIN THREE BUSINESS DAYS)
