The Maritime League of Legends Tour is excited to announce a six race schedule for the upcoming 2015 season. The schedule will take the touring series to four different venues in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick from May to October, racing in front of big crowds at some of the region’s biggest stock car shows with some of the Maritime’s brightest racing talents on display.

The season kicks off at Scotia Speedworld with a 50-lap event on Saturday, May 23rd. The opening race for the Maritime League of Legends Tour will be run in conjunction with the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour’s Lucas Oil 100 season opener. The two touring series will be on the same card thrice in 2015, with the Saturday, August 8th race at Scotia Speedworld and Saturday, August 22nd stop at Petty Raceway in River Glade, New Brunswick having both Legend and Pro Stock features on the same card.

The Saturday, August 8th race, a part of the 16th Annual Atlantic Cat 250 weekend at Scotia Speedworld, will be sponsored by Scotia Tire Service Limited for the second consecutive season. Last year, Nicholas Naugle of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia scored his first home track win in a Legend car in the Scotia Tire 50, a part of a three win season that saw the #88 Brycon Construction team finish second in the series standings.

Naugle will also be the defending race winner when the series rolls into Petty Raceway for a 50-lap event on River Glade International weekend. The August 22nd marks the only New Brunswick stop on the schedule for 2015 and will be a must-see event on the Tour, especially with former Bandolero track champions Cole Tanner (Shubenacadie, NS), Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB) and 2013 runner-up Adam Meehan (Rawdon Gold Mines, NS) making the jump to the Maritime League of Legends Tour for this season. They will also be joined on the Tour by Dustin Tucker (Fredericton, NB), son of three-time Parts for Trucks Tour champion, who will be looking to defend his home province turf in his rookie year against the best Legend drivers in Atlantic Canada.

The series will make two stops on the high banks of Riverside International Speedway in James River, Nova Scotia on Friday, July 17th and Saturday, August 15th. Both races will be 50-laps each and fall on the weekends of the IWK 250 and NASCAR Canadian Tire Series 300, respectively. Longtime series supporter Cummins will be the title sponsor for the Saturday, August 15th event.

Atlantic Motorsports Park, outside of Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia, will once again play host to the closing round of the Maritime League of Legends Tour, the R&D Performance Road Course Challenge, on Sunday, October 11th. Entering its sixth season, the R&D Performance Road Course Challenge is the only road race for any stock car based series in Atlantic Canada and puts the best drivers on the oval to the test, turning right and left, for the coveted trophy crafted by Velocity Machining and Welding of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) took home the race last season, while Justin MacNeill (Bedford, NS) was crowned the series champion for the second consecutive year last October.

New for the 2015 season is the addition of a championship point fund for full time competitors of the series. Drivers who compete in all six races will be able to count their best five races towards the championship standings and will be eligible for bonus money from the point fund, which will be distributed at the year end banquet, held on Saturday, October 24th at the Best Western Plus Glengarry Hotel in Truro, Nova Scotia.

Drivers are reminded that registration for the Maritime League of Legends Tour is now open, and each driver must have an INEX license to race. Maritime League of Legends Tour registration forms are available on the series website at www.maritimelegends.ca. Completed forms can be emailed or faxed to Ann Butcher at finance@atlantictiltload.com or (902) 468-2664.
