The new MJS Holdings Ltd Maritime Mini Stock Tour will visit Riverside International Speedway on August 18. The race will be round four of eight for the series in determining its inaugural champion and will be part of the annual NASCAR weekend at Riverside.

The Mini Stock Tour idea hatched after a very popular stand-alone race at Riverside in 2016 that brought together four-cylinder racers from throughout the Maritimes. During the fall a group of drivers formed the new series to help grow the division while at the same time creating an equal and fair rules package. The concept has been well received by competitors, promoters, and fans.

“We’re pleased to have this race on our schedule,” said Paul McLean, general manager of Riverside International Speedway. “We saw last year just how popular the four cylinders are; it had been a while since they were at Riverside so we really weren’t sure what to expect but they put on a great race. It’s a good fit for the NASCAR weekend and great opportunity for the racers in the series to showcase their talents to our fans.”

“The MJS Holdings Ltd Maritime Mini Stock Tour is extremely happy to partner with Riverside International Speedway,” said Mark Williams, vice president of the series. “To be there in our inaugural season is huge for our tour. We will have the best mini stock racers in the Maritimes at one of the largest events in the region.”

The NAPA Sportsman Series will headline the August 18 show with a 100-lap feature. On Saturday, August 19 the NASCAR Pinty’s Series makes its 11th-annual stop at Riverside for a 300-lap championship points event.

The 2017 season at Riverside opens June 17 with the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and the NAPA Sportsman Series in a 75-lap feature. Advance tickets for June 17 will be available approximately three weeks prior to the event.
