Management for Riverside International Speedway is thrilled to announce a new multi-faceted partnership with Atlantic Lottery which includes PRO•LINE 150 entitlement for the June 29 NASCAR Canada Series (NCS) race along with season-long status as the Official Gaming Partner of Riverside International Speedway.

“We’re excited for Atlantic Lottery to join our family as a major marketing partner,” said Joan Roue, Riverside manager. “The PRO•LINE brand is a perfect fit for sports enthusiasts and the keen Atlantic Lottery activation team is sure to add excitement to our Canada Day Weekend event with what they have planned.”

“We couldn’t be more excited for Atlantic Lottery’s PRO•LINE to be a part of the NASCAR Canada Series FT. PRO•LINE 150 race at Riverside International Speedway this summer,” said Patrick Daigle, Atlantic Lottery President and CEO. “We are always proud to showcase our incredible region to an international audience and to help celebrate world-class events such as this, right here at home.”

The PRO•LINE 150 is round four of 13 on the NASCAR Canada Series 2024 schedule and its only doubleheader this year. The fifth championship points race is on June 30 at Riverside. Both races are part of a huge Canada Day Weekend event planned for the facility starting on Friday (June 28) with Country Rocks Riverside featuring James Barker Band – one of Canada’s current top country acts.

The NASCAR Canada Series is Canada’s only national stock car touring series. The nation’s top drivers and race teams travel across the nation between May and September scoring points based on their finishing positions to determine who will win the coveted championship. Every track is different and Riverside is among the favorites; the PRO•LINE 150 marks the post-pandemic return of NASCAR Canada to Riverside. NASCAR’s lineage at Riverside dates back to 1975. The PRO•LINE 150 at Riverside is part of a three-race east-coast swing for the NASCAR Canada Series; they’re in Newfoundland on June 22 for the PRO•LINE 250.

Besides the NASCAR Canada Series, fans at Riverside on June 29 will see top regional racers in the RJ Poirier Heavy Equipment 150 for the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour. On June 30, NASCAR will be joined by the region’s only vintage stock car series, the Hot Rod Classics presented by Kimco in the Anchor Toyota Classic. A fabulous Canada Day Eve fireworks display will cap the weekend.

The show starts at 5 p.m. on both June 29 and 30. The grandstand gates will open at 1:30 p.m. in time for NASCAR practice at 1:45 p.m. and local practice at 2:30 p.m. At 4 p.m. fans get a chance to meet the drivers in a 30-minute autograph session. Pit gates open at 9 a.m. for NASCAR teams and members, and at 11 a.m. for all others. Detailed schedules will be posted on www.riversidespeedway.ca.

The start time for Friday’s concert is 7 p.m. Opening acts include Mabou’s Eddie Cummings and Halifax’s Merimac, followed by James Barker Band. JBB recently won CMA Ontario’s Group of the Year and the Compass Award, and in March won Country Album of the Year at the Juno Awards.

Camping reservations and tickets for the Canada Day Weekend event at Riverside are available at www.riversidespeedway.ca. They can be purchased as single-day or in discounted bundles. Kids 15 and under get in free on Saturday and Sunday.

Riverside has long attracted top drivers from throughout North America. It is a scale rendition of the original Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. Riverside founder, the late John “Nova” Chisholm, visited with NASCAR founder Bill France in the 60s seeking advice about building a track in Maritime Canada. France recommended a smaller Bristol and emphasized it should be easy to access near a highway interchange. With France’s blessing, Chisholm took an engineer to Bristol – they measured the track and returned to Nova Scotia to build Riverside – 1/3-mile (vs 1/2-mile at Bristol), high banks, and located at an interchange for the Trans Canada Highway. It opened on May 18, 1969, as a top track in Canada and still retains that designation.
