Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE) picked up his third career series win at the Lucas Oil 100 hosted at Petty International Raceway on June 2nd. The win, Hicken’s first since 2010, vaults him to the top of the points standings, just one marker ahead of Craig Slaunwhite (Terrence Bay, NS) who had another solid performance finishing eighth. Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) had a decent run but wound up with a disappointing 20th place finish at the Lucas Oil 100 dropping him from first in points to eighth. Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) sits in third, thanks to a solid run by super sub George Koszkulics (New Glasgow, NS). Darren Mackinnon (Charlottetown, PE) and Shawn Tucker (Fredericton, NB) sit fourth and fifth respectively.

Hometown heroes Donald Chisholm and George Koszkulics will both be drivers to watch on Saturday. Koszkulics snapped a six-season winless drought in the Lucas Oil 100 at Riverside last August. Chisholm is the defending Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 100 Champion and has three wins to his name at the track. Darren MacKinnon picked up the only other win at Riverside last season taking home the coveted IWK 250 title. These three will have to battle 25 other talented teams from across the Maritimes if they wish to return to victory lane at Riverside International this Saturday.

Opening the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 100 is the Napa Sportsman Tour who will be kicking off their season with the Highland Building Supplies 50 lap feature.
