rpde(250)CONCORD, NC (January 28, 2012) – Richard Petty Driving Experience (RPDE), the North-Carolina-based worldwide leader in NASCAR stock car drive and ride entertainment, announced today that it will be returning north this summer for a second Canadian Summer Tour.

During a series of track dates this July, RPDE will visit three tracks in Ontario and one in Nova Scotia; Kawartha Downs & Speedway (Fraserville, ON), Delaware Speedway (Delaware, ON), Sunset International Speedway (Innisfil, ON) and Riverside International Speedway (Antigonish, NS). These same four venues hosted RPDE’s inaugural trek north in 2011.

“We operate at over 20 track locations annually across the US, but last year we offered driving experiences in Canada for the first time in our history,” said Mike Bartelli, Chief Marketing Officer of Petty Holdings, LLC and Richard Petty Driving Experience. “The enthusiasm of Canadian race fans getting to drive their local short tracks for the first time was every bit the equal of what we see from customers at Daytona, or Indy or anywhere else we go.”

“We’re thrilled to be hosting RPDE again,” said Derek Lynch, Manager/Promoter of Kawartha Speedway. “The thrill of their program is something every race fan should experience.”

The “Richard Petty Driving Experience Canadian Summer Tour” will kick off on July 6th at Delaware and includes ten days on the aforementioned tracks over a two week period, wrapping up at Riverside on July 20th.  RPDE will offer a 12-lap Rookie Driving Experience for $399, and a 4-lap High-Speed Ride-Along which simulates a NASCAR qualifying run, for $79. Reservations are required for all driving experiences and can also be made for Ride-Alongs, but are not required.
