Management for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and Riverside International Speedway are pleased to announce a continued partnership with eastern Nova Scotia’s premiere General Motors dealership as the sponsor of the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 on June 17.

“It’s the 10th year Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC has sponsored this race,” said Paul McLean, general manager of Riverside International Speedway. “We are very fortunate to have such loyal corporate partners as members of the Riverside family.”

The dealership uses the partnership to showcase products and services to a loyal automotive enthusiastic audience and so will present a static display and parade lap of vehicles at the event.

“We are always proud to sponsor this event,” says Justin MacLennan, Sales Manager at Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC. “It is a great opportunity to interact with our customers and also showcase some of our vehicles to new customers, away from the dealership.”

The Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 is the season opener for Riverside and round three of 12 on the 2017 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour.

Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC first became involved with Riverside International Speedway in 2006 when the racing facility reopened after a complete rebuild to make it one of the premiere short track facilities in Canada. In 2008, the partnership expanded to include the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour (PST) and the event entitlement; in 2013 the event grew from 100 laps to the current 150 laps, adding even more excitement for fans and racers.

In its 10-year history, the Ron MacGillivray sponsored races at Riverside have seen seven different winners with 2015 PST champion Donald Chisholm (Antigonish) and Shawn Tucker (now retired – Fredericton, NB) tied for the most wins at two races each. Greg Proude (Charlottetown, PE), JR Fitzpatrick (Appin, ON), and the late Mike Stevens (Moncton, NB), all have one win each, as does the defending Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC winner, George Koszkulics (New Glasgow). Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro) is the defending race winner.

Besides pro stock action, fans in attendance June 17 at Riverside will see the season opener for the NAPA Sportsman Series with a 75-lap feature. Start time is 6 p.m. Advance tickets for the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 will be available in May. There will be plenty of free parking as well as free non-serviced camping for self-contained RV’s.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour opens its 2017 season May 20 at Scotia Speedworld with the Lucas Oil 150. Start time is 4 p.m. Tickets will be available at the track on race day.

For fans who can’t make it to the track, the Lucas Oil 150 and the Ron MacGillivray 150 are two of six PST events to be broadcast live online by Race Time Radio.
