The stage is set for Saturday’s Summer Sizzler presented by Wilson Equipment at Riverside International Speedway. Fans will see the last stops of the year at Canada’s highest-banked oval for Fort Garry Industries (FGI) Pro Stock Tour and the Cross Roads League of Legends, along with the first of two stops for the Whispering Winds MASS Mini Stock Series. All three divisions will see championship points racing with qualifying heat races and features.

The Dulux Paint 150 is round seven of 10 for the FGI Pro Stock Tour with $4,500.00 on the line for the winner. Ashton Tucker (Whitney, NB) and Cory Hall (Plymouth, NS) are locked in a tight battle for the points lead, with Tucker only three points ahead of Hall; both are in the hunt for their first series championship. Hall has two wins on the fast oval this year (Dash4Cash and IWK 250) and will be looking to continue his sweep of pro stock events at Riverside in the last half of the season. Tucker won the June pro stock race at Riverside, so is looking for number two. Defending series champion Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake) is third in the standings, only 22 markers behind Hall. Gage Gilby (Enfield) is fourth and Ryan Van Oirschot (Antigonish) fifth. Complete PST point standings are available at www.maritimeprostocktour.com.

The field is stacked with talent, including pro stock/super late model touring series champions Dylan Blenkhorn, Jarrett Butcher, Donald Chisholm, Cory Hall, and Ashton Tucker. Others on the entry list will be looking to score valuable points and visit Victory Lane as well, some for the first time. In addition to the accolades that go with being the series champion, they take home $15,000 from the $58,000 point fund – so every spot counts, whether racing for first or 10th.

The Cross Roads League of Legends will make its third stop at Riverside this year. Danny Chisholm (Port Williams) is hoping for a hat trick on the high banks after winning the first two races. He trails current point leader Owen Mahar (Hubley) by six points and is just nine points ahead of third-place Ayden Christensen (Windsor Junction). Caden Tufts (Hubley) and Nathan Langille (Coldbrook) are tied for fourth and only 22 markers out of third. Find the complete series point standings at www.maritimelegends.ca. Twenty or more of the scale-model vintage NASCAR-type cars from the 30s and 40s are expected to enter Saturday’s race.

Besides Pro Stock and Legends, fans will see the Whispering Winds Campground MASS Mini Stock Series in round one of the Mini Stock Showdown at Riverside; round two is set for September 6, also at Riverside. They’ll see Twin 25s with the overall winner taking home $500. The starting order for the first 25 will be set by qualifying heat races, and the second 25 from the first 25, with the possibility of as many as the top 10 being inverted.

The pit gate opens at Noon on Saturday with practice from 2 p.m. until 4:25 p.m. The grandstand gate opens at 2 for advance ticket holders; the box office opens at 3 for those purchasing tickets at the gate. Racing starts at 5 p.m.

Tickets and pit passes are available in advance online here and at the gate on race day. Camping is free and unreserved; restrictions will be in place to comply with provincial guidelines and in consultation with DNR regarding local conditions.

Fans should stay tuned to Riverside’s website (www.riversidespeedway.ca), social media (Facebook, X, and Instagram) for the latest news from Riverside.
