Management for Riverside International Speedway is excited to announce July 12-15 as dates for the 2023 edition of the IWK 250 Super Weekend. The event is the largest stock car racing event in eastern Canada and is on the bucket list of fans all over North America.

“This is a destination event for many of our attendees so it’s important to get the date nailed down so folks can start making plans for next year,” said Joan Roué, manager of Riverside International Speedway. “After two years off because of COVID restrictions we were thrilled to see the IWK 250 return in all its glory this year. There was a buzz of excitement in the air all weekend long and we plan to build on that momentum moving into next year.”

Highlights for the 2023 event include practice for Friday night divisions on Wednesday evening, the annual IWK 250 Test’N’Tune followed by the popular Tailgate Party on Thursday, grassroots racing on Friday and culminating with the IWK 250 Presented by Steve Lewis on Saturday. Divisions for each day will be announced as determined over the off-season.

The IWK 250 is an iconic race on the North American stock car circuit with long roots, reaching back as far as 1977 when the first 250-lap event held in the Maritimes was contested at Riverside. Since then a who’s-who of Canadian stock car royalty and even a couple of NASCAR stars have won the event and seen their names on the revered John W. Chisholm Memorial Cup.

The IWK 250 Super Weekend has raised awareness and over $525,000 for the IWK Foundation since its inception in 2007.

This is the first date announcement for what is expected to be an expanded schedule for Riverside in 2023. As the largest outdoor entertainment facility in the region, management is looking at options for racing events, and more. Suggestions and/or proposals are welcome; please email
